What is a Veggie Luv Club?
We are a community of people who LUV fruits and veggies and we LUV to save money. Our LUV for these things is why we come together to buy produce in bulk at wholesale prices.
This gives you a tremendous savings and a WHOLE lot of produce.
There are two ways to be a VLC member, a Basic membership (free) or a VIP membership ($10 annual fee).
As a VIP member of the Veggie Luv Club, you pay a $10 annual membership fee and you can order the monthly produce package for $25. Want more than one order? As a VIP member, you can order as many as you would like for just $25 each. And as a VIP member, you don’t have to order every month. Going on vacation? Just simply don’t order that month. VIP members also can order extra items above the regular produce order. Things like extra fruit or extra veggies, herbs, dried fruit and more.
Don’t want to pay an annual membership fee? A Basic membership is free and allows you access to order the regular produce package each month. As a Basic member of the Veggie Luv Club, you can order one bag of produce each month for $30. A Basic member can not order extra items or additional bags of produce.
Where do I pick my order up at?
Pick up will be on Saturday November 19th at the Hernando County Fairgrounds located at 6436 Broad Street Brooksville, FL 34601 from 9am to 10am.
You must be at pick up by 10am! If you do not show up, your order will be donated to a shelter.
We can not save orders for you and we can not stay late. The Fairgrounds has graciously allowed us to use their property for pick up and we must abide by their rules to be done by a set time.
Please use the entrance off of US 41 and follow the VLC signs to the pick up line.
If you can not pick up yourself, you can send someone to pick up for you just make sure they have the email confirmation for your order.
If you have an emergency such as a broken down car, contact us as soon as possible.
What kind of produce will I get?
You will receive 12 different types of produce items which will include the basic produce items that most people use for a Thanksgiving meal. Plus you will receive an additional FOUR vegetable items and the 5 herbs.
We try to keep a balance of fruits and vegetables in each order. We focus on things that the typical family uses and not on exotic type items.
Below is an example of items that have come in previous orders.
Here is an example of items in a basic order of 12 produce items:
- 5 lbs of potatoes
- 3 lbs of apples
- 3 lbs of onions
- 1 lb of carrots
- 2 heads of lettuce
- 1 package of grape tomatoes
- 6 lemons
- 1 stalk of celery
- 2 bunches of green onions
- 6 ears of corn
- 2 lbs of pears
- 4 avocados
Here is an example of the 4 extra veggies that have come in past orders:
- 2 lbs of Green Beans
- 5 Green bell pepper
- 1 head of Cauliflower
- 3 bunches of Kale
I can't make the pick up date, can I still order?
You can send anyone to pick up your order for you. Just be sure to give them a copy of the confirmation email of your order.
On the check out page, you can include your pick up person’s name in the note section and we can notate your order that they will be picking up.
How does pick up work?
Pick up is at the Hernando County Fairgrounds located at 6436 Broad Street Brooksville, FL 34601.
When you arrive, you will pull into the Fairgrounds follow the Veggie Luv Club signs. You will remain in your car and stay in the pick up line. When you approach the check in station, have your order confirmation email up on your phone to show the worker.
Next you will drive through the pick up area stopping at each pick up station. Please have your trunk open so the volunteers can place the food into your trunk. Please have a box or basket for the produce to be placed into.
When it is time to drive forward to the next station, please drive slowly and watch for the direction of the volunteer.
Once you have finished at the last station, the volunteer will direct you to leave and you can go back out to US 41.
Is this just a one time thing or do you do this regularly?
Veggie Luv Club is a produce club that anyone can be apart of. Each month, VLC members can order produce and pick it up on the designated pick up day.
We are offering a special Thanksgiving package to the community. If you would like to join the club and take part each month, you can do that too!
The VIP club membership fee is $10 a year. A member can place unlimited orders per month at $25 each. A VIP member also has the ability to order extra items each month such as extra fruit or veggies packages or individual extra items. Your membership is good for one year from the date you join.
You can also join Free as a Basic member. A Basic member has no yearly fee and can order one order per month for $30. They can not order any of the extra produce items.
Where do you get the produce?
We buy the produce from local produce vendors and from produce wholesalers at the market in Tampa.
On the day of pick up, We arrive at the wholesale market about 1 am and shop and load vehicles with the produce and arrive at The Hernando County Fairgrounds between 7 and 8 am and start preparing for pick up.
How much is it to order?
The Thanksgiving package is regularly $49.99 but you can receive a coupon code for $10 off by joining the VLC texting group.
All orders MUST be picked up on Saturday Nov. 19th at the Hernando County Fairgrounds from 9am to 10am.
Is the produce local or organic?
We do not focus on only organic produce. We will occassionally purchase an organic produce item but this is not something we focus on.
We do buy from local farmers at wholesale market and we buy from produce wholesalers. When we shop we are focused on things that are in season and at a good price.
